Nick Stockley (The Penthouse)
It all began for Nick in 1990 when his elder brother bought some 1210's, as he was only 14 years old it was only a hobby to him, just doing mix tapes for his friends who were old enough to go clubbing; this is where he got his first recognition around his area.
Years later Nick started to play in local bars, as they paid good money back then it covered all his nights out, this led on to become a career in the dance music scene such as playing in the back room to a Northern Exposure tour night with Sasha & John Digweed.
In 2000 he was picked up by an agency that found him work in Stoke, Coventry & Birmingham playing the disco looped house music that people were going crazy for, at this time Nick found himself residences for Fluid, Ace of Clubs, Substitute, Golden, since then Nick has found his style building up from deep & jazzy American, UK house, to French funk. Nick loves to warm up, the job of getting a dance floor to full from empty is electric.
In 2002 Nick set his own night up “The Penthouse”, this night was quickly taken snapped up by larger clubs giving Nick the chance to play on the same nights as Norman Jay, Yousef, Sasha, Miss Moneypenny’s.
Nick also hosts a weekly mix on WhereveRadio.com each Saturday, on the production side of things check out www.myspace.com/deeplldisco.
Thanks to everyone for the support over the past 15 years, Peace & Love!
