Leo (Phuture, Mcr)

In December 2004 Phuture was born, spawned from Leo’s love of sounds heard at club nights such as Fabric and Tribal Sessions. It was these dark sounds first thrown forward at his parties, with his infectious music attracting Manchester debuts from artists such as Alex Under and D. Ramirez. The night held a much loved residency at ‘The Attic’ up until the second birthday when, alongside fellow resident Joel Merrick, he decided to leave with thirst for a new challenge.

Outside of Phuture Leo plays regularly at events across the country, the first of which was Manchester’s longest running club night – Tangled who identified him as “one of their stars of the future”. He went on to play a number of main room slots for the club, whilst also holding down a warm-up residency at ‘The Phoenix’ as the likes of Nick Warren and Rennie Pilgrim played upstairs. Other artists he has been billed with include Lottie, Fergie, Justin Robertson, D. Ramirez, Trevor Rockliffe, Alex Under, Stephane K, JoJo De Freq, DJ Hyper, Alexkid, David Duriez, Audio Werner, Will Saul, Jeff Bennett, Remute, Triple R, Envoy, Justin Harris, DJ Hal, Marc Ashken, Dub Kult, Perc, The Beat Monkeys, Inxec, DNCN, Brendan Long, Disco Annie and loads more.

So what’s in store for 2007? His first Phuture party was voted as recommended club night of the week on Hacienda legend – Dave Haslam’s radio show, he has bookings at some of his favourite clubs in the country including visits to ‘The Mint Club’ and ‘The Northern Light’ in the ever so vibrant city of Leeds, plus a new exciting venture he’s involved with that’s set to hit Manchester at the end of March. Watch this space as you’ll definitely be hearing a lot more from Leo this year...
